Advancing Global Data Harmonization in Derivatives Trade Reporting
With two regulators in large derivatives markets, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), now proceeding with extensive rule changes in derivatives trade reporting, one aspect of which was allowing more harmonized trade reporting across jurisdictions, policy makers have reached an important crossroads in their progress to mitigate systemic risk across the global OTC derivatives market.
Panel Discussion: Business and Product Trends
This panel discussion will address the current business and product trends impacting how and why asset managers use derivatives. As ESG and bitcoin futures are integrated into derivatives portfolios, how are these evaluated, and what advantages do they offer? What other new products are asset managers exploring? How are liquidity issues and market fragmentation impacting derivatives markets, and what global developments have most impact on business? Experts will give us insights on derivatives markets trends as we embark on the next normal.
Panel Discussion: Spotlight on Clearing
Derivatives clearing is once again in focus due to recent market stresses leading to a review of margin models, while changes heralded by Brexit have also drawn attention to concerns over fragmentation. Industry experts come together to assess the current landscape and to discuss opportunities for additional clearing given the final stages of roll-out for uncleared margin rules, a potential drive for FX clearing and new asset classes that focus on digital currencies and ESG.

Join this learning lab to see how the industry is working with Traiana to centralize, standardize and enhance the workflows for messaging and matching of cashflows for great efficiency.
Panel Discussion: Regulatory Updates and Their Impact on Derivatives Markets
How will recent rulemaking and regulatory action shape derivatives market structure and the participation of asset managers within these markets? This panel will address such issues as the SEC’s margin requirements for securities-based swaps and the newly finalized Use of Derivatives rulemaking and its impact on risk managers, legal, and business lines. Speakers will also look at a fundamental issue that has clouded the use of separately managed accounts by asset managers since 2014 - what happened to limited recourse provisions? How will this affect risk management? What are the key dates outlined in CFTC no-action letters and what further changes are needed?Â
